Judge investigating world's most powerful narcos including 'El Chapo' executed while out jogging in horrifying footage
A judge investigating some of the world's most powerful druglords was killed while out jogging in a brutal street execution captured on CCTV.
Vicente Antonio Bermúdez Zacarías was exercising near a gated community in Metepec, Mexico, when he was ambushed by two men on Monday.
One assassin ran up and shot Mr Zacarías in the head from close range before the pair fled in a car.
The judge, 37, was rushed to hospital but died from his injuries at around 8.30am.
He was well-known in Mexico for having ruled on cases involving some of the country's biggest 'narcos'.
Mr Zacarías recently suspended the extradition of Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman, head of the Sinaloa cartel, to the Unites States to face drug trafficking charges.
In contrast, he approved the extradition of Abigail Gonzalez Valencia, leader of another cartel known as 'Los Cuinis'.
