Mum who claims she was raped by two footballers 'woke in strange house naked and in pain'
A mum who has accused two football players of rape told a jury she woke up naked and in pain following the alleged attack.
Denise Clair said she awoke in a strange house after being raped by former Scotland striker David Goodwillie and ex-St Johnstone player David Robertson.
She described “running about the house in a panic”, trying to make sense of her surroundings.
She told the court: “My life has changed forever over a few hours I have no idea about.”
The 30-year-old mum said she had felt suicidal “several times”, reports the Daily Record .
Her counsel Simon Di Rollo QC asked what she was wearing when she awoke.
She replied: “Nothing. I was naked, but I didn’t realise until I was in the kitchen.
“I just felt sore. I felt sore inside as if something had happened to me, but I couldn’t say what.”
Denise is suing Goodwillie, 27, and Robertson, 30, at the Court of Session in Edinburgh.
She claims they raped her in the early hours of January 2, 2011, at a flat in Armadale, West Lothian, while she was incapable of consenting because of alcohol.
Both men deny rape and say the sex was consensual.
Neither was prosecuted. Denise gave up her right to anonymity after the criminal case was dropped.
Denise said she couldn’t find her clothes in the flat.
She put on anything she could find – jeans, a shirt and an Ugg boot – and contacted relatives.
The police were also called.
