The Trump Foundation Has Been Served a Cease and Desist Order By the New York Attorney General

Donald Trump’s charity, the unsurprisingly named Donald Trump Foundation, has been ordered to stop soliciting donations by New York’s attorney general, Eric Schneiderman. Schneiderman has been investigating the foundation and Trump University, and has finally asserted that the former does not have the proper certification to qualify as a real charity.


On Monday, Katy Tur of NBC News shared the order on Twitter. It prohibitsTrump Foundation from accepting money, engaging in fundraising efforts or working with third parties doing the same on their behalf. They have fifteen days to gets their papers in order with the Charities Bureau.
