Toddler 'eaten alive' by herpes after relative kissed her makes incredible recovery
Sienna Duffield was diagnosed with the contagious virus earlier this year after kissing a family member.

Her mother, Savina French-Bell, 21, had to wash her bed sheets daily and throw out clothes after painful blisters spread across the three-year-old’s face.
Her daughter had been admitted to hospital on her second birthday in October 2015
where she was placed on an iv drip because she had stopped eating.
Savina, who lives in Gloucester, then sought advice for creams and antibiotics to prevent Sienna’s condition from getting even worse. ‘It started to look like someone had thrown acid over her face, it spread from her mouth to her cheeks, and above her eyes.’
She said eight months of antibiotics had failed to treat the infection and it was only when Sienna was put on lucloxacillin to treat severe eczema that things began to improve.
‘Doctors were shocked and for ages they had no idea what brought on Sienna’s virus,’ she continued.

Her face took so long to heal because her body was so weak.
‘Every day her skin would be stuck to pillows and there would always be blood everywhere.
‘I tried to stop her from scratching herself but she would use surfaces such as sofas in the house to scratch her face.’
Fortunately, Sienna’s condition is improved and her mum is hoping it stays that way.
