Toddler to undergo head surgery after Sydney Chinatown gas explosion

Oliver Saeter has a large laceration to the back of his head from the explosion, which happened as hundreds of diners were eating in a busy food court on Little Hay Street in Haymarket.

Fourteen people have been injured, and a major clean-up operation has continued throughout the night in Sydney, after a massive gas explosion tore through a food court in Haymarket.
At least 200 people were in the five-storey building that houses Dixon House Food Court when the blast happened in its loading dock about 7.30pm AEDT.
Oliver was among seven people taken to hospital, while nine others were treated at the scene.
