CHILD ABUSE: Court Remands Lady In Calabar Prison

The victim, Master Daniel Okon Nse bearing burns from the hot water on his lips and arm.
The Calabar Magistrates Court has remanded one Ms. Uduak Monday at the Calabar prison,  Afokang for allegedly violating the rights of Master Okon Nse.
Uduak, about 29 years appeared before the Magistrate in court room one on Monday 28th,  November 2016 for allegedly pouring boiled water on the victim’s face in an attempt to wake him up.

The Magistrate was said to be infuriated with the manner at which Ms. Monday responded to questions as her bail application was been heard, therefore turned down the application, remanded her in Afokang until the next adjourned date, Sunday 9th December,  2016.
Ms. Uduak allegedly poured boiling water on Master Daniel Okon Nse (10 years old) at about 5:30AM on Thursday, 24th November, 2016, causing severe burns and injuries on the child’s face and arm.
Mr. Emmanuel Agan who is a neighbour to the accused, noticed the grave injuries on the child on Friday 25th November, 2016 and immediately reported to Basic Rights Counsel Initiative, a front line child rights organization in Calabar.
