Man arrested for murdering girlfriend

A Butterworth man was arrested on Monday morning, for the murder of his girlfriend.
Police said in a statement that the 40-year old man was apprehended at the Yako informal settlement in Butterworth.


The victim, a 39-year-old woman was allegedly beaten to death with a stick.
The suspect is expected to appear in the Butterworth Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.
The identity of the victim is being withheld until her family has been notified.
