Three Denver Public Schools Shots Down Due To A Virus Outbreak

Three Denver Public Schools will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday for what officials are calling a gastrointestinal illness outbreak among students.
Denver Public Health advised that Cole Middle School, Cole High School and Cole Arts & Science Academy closed immediately after 25 to 30 students displayed symptoms of norovirus, including vomiting and diarrhea, on Monday.

A few other students reported falling ill on Friday.
All three schools are housed inside the same building at 3240 Humboldt Street.
Parents were contacted about the closure Tuesday morning, and are being given information on how to handle the norovirus from Denver Public Health.

Officials are working to sterilize the school for when students return from holiday break on January 9.
