A gunman in a "Star Wars" T-shirt opened fire at a major US airport today, killing at least five people and injuring eight others.
The suspect - identified as Esteban Santiago-Ruiz - allegedly shot at least 13 people during the attack at Fort Lauderdale Airport.




The 26-year-old new dad, carrying military ID, is said to have flown into Florida from Canada, with his handgun in his checked bag.
He is then alleged to have gone into the men's toilet to take out the weapon, before coming out and shooting his victims in the head.
Five people have been declared dead so far following the shooting, which occurred in Terminal 2's lower-level baggage claim area.
At least eight others have been hospitalised with injuries, officials say.

This afternoon, horrified witnesses described how "everyone" started running as the gunman opened fire at people "randomly".
Santiago-Ruiz, said to be a US Army reservist, is alleged to have calmly walked up to his victims before silently shooting them.
