I Couldn't let go of this cutie as he looked deeply and hopefully into my eyes.

For most couples or singles, having a baby may be a difficult task, due to some medical and as some would put it spiritual reasons. Whatever the case may be, there are beautiful and relinquished or abandoned children who needs a home.
So if you are looking for an adoption in Nigeria, then you are just on the right page.

Only citizens of Nigeria or citizens of the united states who also have citizenship in Nigeria can adopt

You must have reached the age of 25years and you MUST be 25 years older than the baby you choose to adopt. If the adoption is demanded by a couple then atleast one of them should have attained that age.

Couples are allowed to adopt from either sex, but singles are not usually allowed to adopt the opposite sex.

Lesbians or gay couples are exempted from adoption in Nigeria.

Abandoned or relinquished baby are only adopted in Nigeria and the age of the adoptive child should not be more than 17 years.

One thing to bear in mind is that not all children who are in the orphanage are eligible for adoption. As some parents whether young or old temporarily bring in their kids there  because they cannot take care of them due to hardship facing them at that moment.

Write a formal letter and submit to the court.
You would be invited into the court for a brief interview to ascertain the reasons why you want to adopt a child.

You would then be issued a letter of approval to adopt any adoptable child in any home.

A fee would be paid to the orphanage home. While an order of release of the child would be given.

In other for the child to get familiar with you, the child would stay with you for 3 consecutive months.

This is to allow familiarity with the child and also for you to know if you could cope with the child.

After the 3 months of mutual compatibility, the court then gives you a final approval.

As simple as that. It is not stressful to adopt in Nigeria as some people are made to believe. One do not need to steal a child at the hospital or whatever means.

I hope this piece meets you well.

Do not forget to leave a comment below if you have difficulty in the process or for any inquiries or corrections as to the post.
