2 Dead and Several Injured In Petrol Station Gas Explosion.

It has been reported online of A terrible gas explosion yesterday in Adigbe area in Abeokuta, Ogun State left everybody speechless. The mayhem was so disastrous that many wonder how the amount of damage was done. Two persons were confrmed dead on the spot while several others were injured.
The sad incident occurred in the morning yesterday being Thursday 26th January 2017 and seven people were also injured. The explosion occurred at about 11:00 a.m. when a welder was carrying out a repair work at RAB Engineering Petrol Station in the area which is believed to have triggered the chain of events.
Apart from the casualties, the explosion also triggered a powerful a raging fire which razed over seven makeshift shops, a motorcycle parked near the scene before the operatives of the state Fire Service could halt the spread and the attendant destruction.
The Ogun State Director of State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Shakiru Adebakin, told journalists that the fire was caused by a man- made error that could have been averted if the owner of the filling station had adopted simple safety precaution. Adebakin said it was wrong to undertake welding activities in a petrol station without certain precautionary measures in place.
