Fans pay tribute to Bill Paxton as they tweet his iconic Aliens line

He made cinema history when he uttered the hysterical line: "Game over, man. Game over!"

And following Bill Paxton 's death on Saturday, fans of the movie star, 61, paid tribute to him by quoting his iconic sound-bite from Aliens.

Following the news that he had died following complications after surgery , cinema devotees offered their condolences whilst also referencing his line from the 1986 blockbuster.


 One fan, @mfiume, wrote: "'Game Over Man, GAME OVER!' RIP Bill Paxton, the only man to fight and be killed by a Terminator, a Predator and a Xenomorph. He was legend!"
And it he wasn't the only cinema fan to quote the line, or Bill's equally impressive Sci-Fi movie credentials, as the world took stock of the actor's sudden and tragic passing.

"'Game over, man. Game over!' RIP Bill Paxton; you were amazing in so many things I loved x," wrote @houseboundgeek.
And while the messages chaged to express how some would never watch "Aliens" the same way ever again, or how tragic and unexpected his death was, ,many fans found themselves in-sync - tweeting the line out.

The star - best known for his roles in hit films such as Aliens, Apollo 13, Twister and Titanic - died suddenly on Saturday.
