Did you miss out on The NBA Midwest Bar Forum? Here's a roundup of what went on
When the NBA Journal reporters, photographers and editors weren't covering the NBA Midwest Bar Foum 2017 events, we were checking our social media feeds to see what we were missing.
CHIKE ONYEMENAM, SAN EMERGES CHAIRMAN, MID WEST BAR FORUM. Yay!
THE whatsapp NBA group has it that The Chief Ferdinand Orbih SAN led Executive Committee of the Mid west bar forum handed over the mantle of leadership
of the forum to some other hands at the meeting of the forum which held yesterday 25/3/2017 at the NBA House, Benin City.
The Orbih led EXCO deservedly prides itself as the team that sold and delivered the candidature of Austin Alegeh SAN, the immediate past President of the Nigerian Bar Association.
Little wonder, the meeting was excited when Austin Alegeh SAN himself walked in to the hall to the standing ovation of all members present.
The highlight of the meeting was the election of members of the executive committee in a peaceful and seamless exercise which returned unopposed all the nominated candidates who were well drawn from the branches in Edo and Delta States.
This exercise produced Chike Onyemenam SAN of the Asaba branch as the chairman of the forum. In his acceptance speech upon being sworn in alongside others by Alegeh SAN, Onyemenam SAN noted that the hallmark of his administration would be the welfare of all the members of the fourteen branches that made up the forum. He noted that he would propose an amendment of the Constitution of the forum to provide for a welfare officer as one of the EXCO members. The new chairman who until his election was the vice chairman of the forum also promised to continue on the developmental path of the Orbih leadership.
The meeting ended in bliss and members departed with no doubt in their minds that the bright future of the forum is in fine and competent hands.
