You might think this man deserves to be locked up for inflicting trauma and injury on his ex-wife. Hell no! At his sentencing, report has it that Judge Richard Mansell decided not to send Bashir to jail — partly, it’s alleged, because his lawyers said he had an upcoming contract with Leicestershire County Cricket Club.

It was a contract that was conditional upon him staying out of jail — and so he did. Instead, Bashir was told to attend a workshop on “building better relationships”, given a £1000 fine and banned from contacting his ex-wife. Hoooooooow!



MUSTAFA Bashir beat his ex-wife with a cricket bat, forced bleach down her throat and ordered her to kill herself.

The 34-year-old cricket player pleaded guilty to two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm at Manchester Court in England last week. This was, the court heard, one incident in a sustained abusive relationship in which Bashir would often taunt his former wife about her Western clothing, separate her from family members, and call her friends “English slags”.
