On Exhorbitant Law School Fees. A LAwyer's Struggle.

Reps seek downward review of law school fees

Ok take a *pause* my thoughts... whether the reps are being hit by this recession or not, for whatever motive, this review had been long expected. (Play) The House of Representatives yesterday expressed concern of the “exorbitant fees” charged by Nigeria Law School, saying it is unacceptable.

The House mandated its committees on justice, tertiary education and services as well as that on finance to interface with director general of the Nigerian Law School, the Council for Legal Education, the Nigerian Bar Association, the ministers of justice and finance on the matter
.

The interface would also involve other stakeholders to look at the challenges and requirements of law school, the reasons for the exorbitant fees and the possible solutions. The committees have six weeks to report back.

Let's hope they report back in due course. I must confess that the Lagos Law School has dramatically changed from what it used to be.
