Taxi driver in court over anal sex

Sampson Mensah, a 31-year-old taxi driver who is accused of having anal sex with a 15-year-old boy at Teshie has appeared before an Accra Circuit Court.

Charged with defilement, Mensah pleaded not guilty.


The court presided over by Mrs Abena Oppong Adjin-Doku admitted him to bail in the sum of GH?30, 000.00 with three sureties one to be justified.

Mr. Edwin Osafo, Counsel for the accused prayed the court to admit his client to bail as he has been in custody for a long time.

According to Mr. Osafo Mensah would not abscond if granted bail.

Prosecution Detective Inspector Kofi Atimbire said the complainant was the mother of the victim and accused person is a driver living at Teshie but has now moved to Awutu Bawjiase.

 The matter has been adjourned to April 4.
