The Benue State Government has declared Friday, 3rd March
2017, a public holiday as part of preparations for the coronation of the
Tor Tiv, the fifth, Professor James Ayatse.
The coronation holds on Saturday. The decision was part of the decision taken at the state
executive council meeting presided over by Governor Samuel Ortom on
Wednesday.
The government enjoined indigenes and residents in the state to make sacrifices in receiving guests who will flood the state for the occasion.
He also appealed to them to endure any inconveniences including security checks that may arise by reason of the influx of people for the coronation.
Governor Ortom appealed to the people to turn out in large numbers in their best colours and manners to grace the occasion.
