Trump introduces modernised, affordable health system to replace Obamacare
After years of Obamacare’s broken promises, House Republicans today took an important step. Republican speaker Paul Ryan claimed Obamacare had been an abject failure.
“Obamacare has failed the American people. Over the past seven years, we’ve seen premiums skyrocket, choices dwindle, and government take more control over our health care.
Left unchecked, the damage wrought by Obamacare would continue to spin out of control,” he wrote on his website.
The American Health Care Act would dismantle several of the core aspects of the reforms, including ending related subsidies and taxes.
It would also end the requirement for individuals to have insurance, instead providing incentives for people to purchase it on the open market.
