An £850,000 digger is stuck in the sea.

Surrounded by buoys, the sad-looking vehicle is clearly visible from shore with its dipper arm poking up from the waves.


No, it isn’t meant to be there. It’s not an art installation and it isn’t trying to reclaim this area of Sussex coastline.

It unfortunately fell into its own trench while laying cables for an offshore windfarm, and became stranded by the tide.

Although they tried to sort out the problem, the operators ended up having to row back to shore in a dinghy.

Seems like it would take a long while before it would be moved.
