Court Grants Couple A No-Fault Divorce Since Wife Is Possessed By Satan Which Has No Law Backing Up Their Claims

 What else can the court do in situation where there is no law or science backing up the claims other than to grant a No-fault divorce seeing that the woman has been sick and which sickness could not be explained. The story goes thus about an Italian man who was granted a divorce after claiming in court that his wife was controlled through demonic possession by Satan. The unnamed Italian was granted divorce from his wife after a court in Milan was told of her “inexplicable behavior” – including fits, levitation and superhuman strength.

According to a report on Italian news site, the man claimed his wife had been exhibiting bizarre symptoms for the past 10 years which were inexplicable by medical science.

A priest and a monk who had tried to help his wife in the past were called to testify on the husband's behalf. The court heard that attempts to exorcise the demon from the wife had been unsuccessful each time.

One claimed that the woman, in the grip of a demonic force, picked up an entire church pew with one hand and threw it at the altar.

The judge reportedly agreed that the incidents could not be explained by any known illness, and granted the couple a no-fault divorce.
