The initial prognosis was positive, with Mane telling reporters as he left Anfield that he was okay. He was also able to depart the stadium without the aid of crutches, nor wearing a knee brace.
However it’s feared he has knee ligament damage and surgery isn’t being ruled out at this stage, according to the Daily Mail.


He went for a scan on Sunday but the results are not yet known. Swelling around the joint had not gone down enough on Monday to make a full assessment, the report adds.
