Man ‘stabbed ex-girlfriend 37 times in an attempt to ruin her looks’

A young woman who was allegedly stabbed 37 times by her ex-boyfriend claims he was trying to ‘ruin’ her looks after she broke up with him.

 The 25-year-old woman, who has not been named, broke up with her 29-year-old boyfriend and thought that was the end of it.


But shortly after, he allegedly broke in to her home in Turella, in Sydney’s south, and attacked her.
Speaking to The Daily Telegraph, the woman revealed how he came at her armed with a pair of scissors and inflicted 37 stab wounds on her face and body.


Following the attack, her ex-boyfriend went on the run for four days but was soon caught by police in Tamworth.

He was charged with attempted murder, wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, and break and enter to inflict grievous bodily harm.
