Girl dies after falling from ride at Drayton Manor theme park
George Bryan, director of Drayton Manor Theme Park, said he was ‘truly shocked and devastated’ by what happened.
Witnesses described hearing crying and screaming from the entrance to the ride, before the air ambulance landed.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: ‘We can confirm the patient was on a school trip.
‘A teacher must have either been inside the ride or in close proximity but that will be a matter for the HSE to investigate.’

 Superintendent Carl Ratcliffe, of Staffordshire Police, said earlier: ‘We were called at 2.25pm this afternoon to reports that a child had fallen from a water ride at Drayton Manor Park.
‘Her parents have been informed and are being supported by officers.’
