"I wish they didn't let you in the country": Woman harasses Muslim shopper who let her queue in front of her

 

Shocking footage has emerged showing a white woman harassing a Muslim shopper her who let her queue in front of her at a supermarket.

The unnamed victim offered to let the woman go in front of her in the checkout line as she appeared to be in a hurry.


But in return, the woman allegedly began making derogatory comments about the way another Muslim customer, who was wearing a niqab, was dressed.

The harasser then asked the Muslim woman why she wasn't fully covered, to which she replied that it was a choice.

At this point, the Muslim shopper says she started filming the exchange after the woman started talking about female genital mutilation.

In the mobile phone footage, recorded at a Trader Joe's store in Reston, Virginia, the Muslim woman can be heard saying "I shouldn't have let you in front of me."

The white woman replies: "I wish they didn't let you in the country", to which the horrified Muslim woman tells her "I was born here."

The blonde woman then proceeds to tell the Muslim woman that "Obama's not in office anymore. We don't have a Muslim here anymore."

The Muslim woman retaliated: "You look a little crazy, maybe you need to get some help... normal people don't strike up conversations like that."

The video was shared on social media by comedian Jeremy McLellan, a friend of then woman who he said wished to remain anonymous.
