Student 'blacks up' to look like Serena Williams sparking racism row
A male student has ‘blacked up’ in order to dress as tennis star Serena Williams.

The young man, reportedly a member of the Anglia Ruskin University rugby team, can be seen with a painted face and a sweatband.
Many have called out the offensive incident on Twitter and a spokesperson for the university have confirmed they are investigating.

University of Birmingham student Sunchi Chen shared the image online. She said: ‘This was shown to me by a friend.
‘Blackface is still a thing.’

"Yes my menses appeared 30 minutes to my performance and I had to put on a sanitary pad and still go on stage. "Menstruation is not a shame and I urge all young women take a cue from my actions and not to let it stop them from doing anything they want to do."
