War photographer Captures final Moment as Bomb Explodes Killing Her and Four Others
A war photographer captured the moment a mortar bomb accidentally exploded in Afghanistan killing her and four others.
Specialist Hilda Clayton was taking pictures of Afghan soldiers taking part in live-fire training in Qaraghahi in July 2013 when the mortar went off.
The 22-year-old, and an Afghan counterpart, captured the exact moment the mortar exploded, killing them both and three Afghan soldiers involved in the exercise.
The combat photographer’s family have given permission for the picture to be released four years on.
