CBN Has Ordered Banks To Pay Up All Excess Charges With Interest...Has Yours Been Paid Yet?

It is one thing to give an order and it is another thing to ensure its enforcement.


4 days ago the Central Bank Of Nigeria (CBN) had ordered banks to refund all monies Illegally deducted from customer's account as a result of ATM withdrawals with interest.

This is sequel to complaints by bank customers within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) over excess charges by banks through Automated Teller Machine (ATM) withdrawals.

The customers who had laid a complaint says as a result of the development, they dreaded making withdrawals using other banks ATMs because of the continued charge of N65 for every transaction. They also complained that the banks had programmed their ATM to dispense only 10k or less making it very difficult for customers and ripping them off.
So monitor your accounts and write to your banks as quickly as you can.
