Crestbridge Law Office Asaba, Joins Awele Ideal Esq, Lawyers, Women and Children To Protest The Rape to death of 13-year-old Ochanya in Delta State

Ochanya as she is popularly known is a cousin of a lecturer’s wife. Messrs Andrew Ogbuja husband to her aunt and Victor Inalegwu Ogbuja the son allegedly raped young ochanya which led to her death.

This has caused an outrage as  lawyers from all works of life have trooped into the city of Asaba, Delta state, one of the oil rich states in Nigeria to join in the Walk Against Sexual Abuse and Defilement (WASAD).

This walk will include male and female lawyers,  all male and female children and  all women and men from all works of life who feel hurt by the death of this young beautiful girl who had held her uncle and cousin in high esteem, to protect her, only to dash her hope against her to join in this walk.

Awele Ideal being the sponsor of the Walk Against Sexual Abuse and Defilement  (WASAD) is calling on all men, women and children to come out in mass today the 27th November,2018  in asaba as they walk the WALK.

As a lawyer in the law firm-Crestbridge law office, Vivian Onukwufor esq, Lilian Ugbah esq is calling on all single ladies to join them in this cause. They are demanding that these beast be called to justice and severely punished and possibly charged amonst others with first degree murder.

Crestbridge Law Office, Asaba Delta State holds every woman out there in the highest esteem at ensuring that such cases of abuses be brought to the knowledge of the International Federation of Women lawyers Nigeria Chapter as they would do all they can to bring the perpetrators of such acts to book.

Alarmed by the increasing number of sexual violence against children, especially the death of thirteen year old Ochanya Elizabeth Ogbanje in Benue State, a lawyer and member of the FIDA Delta State is organizing a Walk in Asaba tomorrow, October 27 against sexual abuse and defilement of children.

“Children are special gifts from God Almighty. They are their parents' pride and source of happiness to society. They are decent and innocent. Every reasonable human being should love children and protect their innocence,” said the coordinator of the walk, Awele Ideal Esq.

She said every concerned citizen in Delta State is invited to join her tomorrow for the walk which will start at 3:30PM at Adios Place and terminate at Grand Hotels, Asaba.

She said that she, like every well meaning Nigerian was shocked when news of the death of the young girl broke in the media.

“I am a mother of three lovely girls and I cannot imagine such wickedness being visited on any of them. It is time we rise as a society against this monster that is rearing its head in our midst,” she added.

She said the walk is aimed at sensitizing parents, especially mothers not to be part of the conspiracy of silence and to indicate urgency for us all to keep an eagle eye on children everywhere we are.

Thirteen year old Ochanya reported to have died from complications caused by years of severe sexual abuse by a 51-year old guardian and his son in Otukpo, Benue State.

FIDA Benue State is spearheading the fight for justice for late Ochanya.
