Delta State Chief Judge Looses Gorgeous Wife. High Courts, All Customary Courts Shuts Down Tomorrow 22nd October In Her Honour

Delta state, one of the oil rich states of Nigeria has been thrown into mourning as they received with sadness the news of the passing away of  a great woman and wife of the Chief Judge of Delta State, Mrs Lizzy Umukoro. This  came as a rude shock to members of the  Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) who were just with her few weeks and days before her death.





In this vain, the NBA chairman, Eruli-Ede shared the infotmation that High Courts  in Delta state will be shut down tomorrow the 22nd October,  2018. The customary court of Appeal will also not be sitting. This information was also passed through its Director of protocol,  F.C. Ogboi.

The Nigerian Bar Association has released a press statement through its publicity secretary Kunle Edun. The customary court of Appeal will also not be sitting as shared by its Director of protocol,  F.C. Ogboi.





On behalf of members and National Officers of the Nigerian Bar Association, the President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Paul Usoro, SAN expresses the heartfelt condolences of the Nigerian Bar Association to my Lord, the Honorable Chief Judge of Delta State, Honorable Justice Marshall Umukoro over the death of his wife, Mrs. Lizzy Umukoro.





The sad news of the demise of the wife of my Lord, the Chief Judge came to the NBA as a shock. According to the NBA President, Mrs. Lizzy Umukoro was a devout Christian and excellent mother.





NBA President assures my Lord, the Chief Judge that the NBA will stand by him during this trying time and prays that God Almighty will give my Lord, the Chief Judge and the children left behind the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.

As a result of the death of the wife of the Honourable Chief Judge of Delta State, the Chief Registrar of the Delta State Customary Court of Appeal, has directed that all Customary Courts in Delta State should not sit tomorrow, Monday, the 22/10/2018, as a mark of respect to the Honourable, the Chief Judge. May her gentle soul rest in peace.

EFCC Officials Forcefully Break Into An Expectant Woman's House at 3am

An expectant father has accused EFCC officials of breaking into his home in the middle of the night to conduct a search without a warrant. The man said he was at his home in Olokuta, Kemta, in Idi-Aba, Abeokuta between 3 am to 5 am, when some men forcefully broke into his house using a hammer.  He added that he was afraid they were armed robbers, so he hid in the guest bedroom with his pregnant wife as the men broke in through the sitting room window. According to him, the intruders claimed to be EFCC officials looking for "Yahoo boys", but they had no form of identification, neither did they have a search warrant.  Even without a search warrant, the victim alleged that they searched his house, damaged things, then left without as much as an apology.
