See The First Minister for Suicide Prevention Appointed in the UK

Imagine what would happen in Africa especially in Nigeria if a Minister for suicide Prevention is appointed... 'You tell your sister to go pretend to commit suicide and some of the bounty sum  £1.8 million of government funding  given to you or a relation who helped stop her. Lol! The money is enough to go defend her in court right?





Ok, that was an aside. People are indeed taking their lives almost everyday and the United Kingdom has appointed  Jackie Doyle-Price, the Minister for Suicide Prevention to help stop these deaths.





Jackie who was already a junior minister in the Department of Health, will lead the push to cut the number of suicides and reduce the stigma that stops people seeking help, a statement on the new role confirmed.





Prime Minister Theresa May made this appointement during the World Mental Health day. She also didnt leave the Samaritans out as she pledged  up to £1.8 million of government funding to help ensure the Samaritans can continue to provide 24-hour free support, and starting in 2019, a 'State of the Nation' report will be released.
