Professor Jerry Ghana vs Donald Duke See Reasons Why Duke Maybe Disqualified As Presidential Candidate for SDP

The former Governor of Cross River state, Donald Duke who emerged winner of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) defeating presidential aspirant on same platform of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Professor Jerry Gana,  may have his win shortlived.





Prof Jerry Gana who rejected the emergence of Donald Duke as the party's presidential candidate for the 2019 elections, has approached the FCT High Court in the Maitama, presided over by Justice Husseini Baba Yusuf, to disqualify Donald Duke as the party’s presidential candidate in the 2019 general elections.

In the party’s constitution as provided under section 15(3), it was stipulated that the party will respect the principle of rotation and zoning because it is important to building up of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.





“The provision specifies that the position of national chairman of SDP cannot come from the same part of Nigeria,” Gana said.
