CP Lagos Recalls DPO Who Assaulted and Broke Carpenter's Leg


The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi, has recalled the Divisional Police Officer, Ijora-Badia Division, Daniel Odutona, from his duty post to the command’s headquarters to pave the way for an investigation into the alleged assault on a carpenter, Saheed Akinboye, by the DPO.





Furthermore, the Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Police Command, CSP Chike Oti, said in a statement, on Thursday, that Imohimi, gave the DCP, SCID, Panti, Yaba, a week to submit the report of her findings.





The incident as reported by PUNCH Metro is that the carpenter Mr. Akinboye had on Monday visited the station to recover six dozens of chairs seized by some policemen who raided the Ijora-Baida area of the state during a clash by cultist in the area. He was in the company of Mr. Rasak Balogunaccused Odutona of assaulting and fracturing his left hand and leg when he visited the station in company with Mr Rasak Balogun and Mrs Modupe Ojediran.





Rather than the DPO to reason with his them or conduct an investigation as to the veracity of the claims by the carpenter that he runs a rental outfit as a side business, the DPO instead assaulted the man, breaking his limbs.
