It was a massive show of support today the 14th day of January, 2019 as 43 Senior Advocate of Nigeria storm in solidarity in the defense over the allegation of the non-declaration of asset by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Walter Onnoghen.





The president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammad Buhari has denied any involvement in the arraignment of the CJN, however, one Denis’s Aghanya, a politician with history of working for President Muhammadu Buhari had sent in the petition to the Code of Conduct Bureau on January 9th and in a swift move, the Code of Conduct Tribunal fixed Monday morning for commencement of trial which triggered a political stimulation to the allegations of non disclosure of asset by Justice Walter Onnoghen.

Justice Walter Onnoghen was ofcourse absent at the trial as he is challenging the jurisdiction of the court to try him of which he was well represented irrespective of the merits or demerits of whatever allegation he is being charged.





As a judicial officer, the National Judicial Council must first conduct an in-house investigation over any allegations levied against a serving judicial officer before he can be tried in any Court or Tribunal.





Case adjourned to next week 22nd of January, 2019.
