MINIMUM WAGE: N27,000 for Public & Private Sector, N30,000 for Federal Govt Workers...NLC Rejects

The National Council of State has pegged the national minimum wage at N27,000 for states and the private sector. The council also pegged N30,000 as the minimum wage for federal workers.





Bill to be transmitted to NASS tomorrow Wednesday.





But, the Nigeria Labour Congress has rejected the N27,000 the new national minimum wage as adopted by the National Council of States today





The NLC Secretary-General, Dr. Peter Ozo-Eson, made this known to the News Agency of Nigeria in Abuja.





The council he said has no jurisdiction determining another amount after a Tripartite Committee had submitted its report.





Friday has vbeen fixed for an emergency National Executive Council meeting to weigh on the deadline given to government within which to submit an executive bill to the National Assembly.
