Breaking: INEC Challenges Court Order on Bauchi Election

Justice Inyang Ekwo of a Federal High Court in Abuja had barred INEC from resuming the collation and announcement of the governorship election result in Bauchi.







Mr Festus Okoye, INEC’s National Commissioner, Information and Voter Education said the commission has filed a ‘motion on notice`, challenging the jurisdiction of the court in granting the order.





The order followed an ex parte application filed by the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Bauchi state Governor, Mohammed Abubakar.





The motion on notice is yet to be heard and INEC is obliged to abide by the order which still subsist.
