Thunder Bolt Judgement: Prince Ned Nwoko Wins as Court Sacks Senator Elect Nwaobishi

By a suit filed by Prince Ned Nwoko challenging the election of ex-senator elect Nwaoboshi as the PDP candidate in the October 2, 2018 primary of the party held in Delta state, Justice Ahmed Mohammed in a judgement which stuck down like a thunder bolt held that Nwaoboshi, a serving senator, was not the duly elected candidate of the PDP in the primary election in the first place.

Accordingly, the Judge also ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to publish the name of Prince Nwoko as the PDP candidate, having established before the court that he scored the highest number of votes in the said primary election.

Prince Ned Nwoko filed his suit on seven grounds, 20-paragraph affidavit evidence, and five exhibits, had claimed that he was screened and cleared to contest the primary election by the PDP electoral committee in 2018.

However, the three respondents, INEC, PDP and Nwaoboshi, based their defence on the claim that the suit was not filed within the legally-stipulated time, and urged the court to dismiss the case.

It was also held that Nwoko was entitled to his claims and prayers, having established that he emerged victorious in the PDP primary election.

Prince Nwoko who parleyed a legion of Lawyers the NBA meeting held at the Bar centre in Asaba, Delta State while soliciting for the support of lawyers in re-electing Governor Okowa which was unanimously agreed by lawyers, was asked about his matter which was already in court. In his quintessential style Hon. Prince Ned Nwoko said;
