EFCC Arrest A'Ibom HIV/AIDS Director for Allegedly Embezzling N30m

The Nation online news reports that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Uyo Zonal Office have arrested the Director and Project Manager of Akwa Ibom State Agency for Centre of AIDS, Dr Nkereuwem Akpan for allegedly embezzling N30million fund meant  for HIV/AIDS programmes in the state.





The programmes include outreach, sensitisation, HIV testing and counselling; the purchase of screening and confirmatory test tiebreaker.





The suspect was arrested on Thursday following intelligence gathering on how he allegedly misappropriated the said funds which paid to the Agency in November 2018 by the office of the Secretary to the State Government, (SSG) Akwa Ibom State.
