Reno Omokri, AIT react to Suspension of AIT Online

Reacting to the earlier news of the suspension of the license of Daar Communication Plc, owners of AIT, RAY POWER until further notice, AIT, Reno Omokri took to his Twitter handle and wrote;





The @MBuhari junta has shut down @AIT_Online. We are now officially a dictatorship. Opposition voices are stifled, and those who voted against Buhari are treated like enemies of the state and called 'necessary evil'. Welcome to #NextLevel#FreeLeahSharibu





AIT in reaction to its suspension by the Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC), wrote on their site;





We are in a Democracy and must all rise to defend Nigeria from anti-democratic forces and RayPower have not violated any code of broadcasting as alleged by the National Broadcasting Commission, NBC.  The National Broadcasting Commission, NBC, and the government in power are not comfortable with the broadcast industry because of its courageous and dogged stance in informing Nigerians on happenings in the country.

Following the backlash that trailed her performance at Shatta Wale's Reign Concert over the weekend, Ghanaian singer,  Fantana  has now released a statement.  The singer stated that she is not ashamed of being a woman and also mesntruating. Her statement read in part;  "Regardless of my costume being transparent, my only option was to put on a sanitary pad and still go ahead to perform. I am a woman and I’m not ashamed of menstruating. "I want to urge every woman to resist being discriminated against because of menstruation. I hope some people read wide and learn about menstrual health to stop the stereotype against young girls and women. "Yes my menses appeared 30 minutes to my performance and I had to put on a sanitary pad and still go on stage. "Menstruation is not a shame and I urge all young women take a cue from my actions and not to let it stop them from doing anything they want to do."
