Delta State Governorship tribunal: Drama as Witness Tells Court He Cannot See and Read

Hearing in the Delta state Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal took a dramatic turn on Tuesday as the witness for the 1st Respondent upon cross examination by the petitioner to identify a document not made by him, told the court that he was not from that EXHIBIT P5 Local Govt he is being confronted with to give evidence to

On further attack for him to response, the witness rest his case by saying he could not see.

In other to move forward, the pettioner and lawyers in the Tribunal opted to give him their various eye glasses to enable him read but it was obvious his prescription was not same with theirs.

The fulcrum of the drama was stemmed when the witness was shown smart card report not written by him. On the point of putting questions on the witness the learned counsel to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Respondent objected to that line of cross examination stating that section 232 of the Evidence Act apply.

The objections by the 1st, 2nd, 3rd Respondent was then sustained with relevant authorities cited, Ezuruike v 7Up Bottling Company plc (2018) LPELR-44626 (CA) @Page 19 to 20.
