North Korea’s Kim Tests New Weapon as Trump Pushes Nuclear Talks

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un personally supervised the “test-fire of a new weapon,” the latest in a series of missile launches, state media reported Sunday — as US President Donald Trump said Pyongyang wants to resume denuclearization talks.
The country’s official Korean Central News Agency did not specify the nature of the weapon tested in Saturday’s launch. Saturday’s test was the fifth in two weeks — are in protest at regular US-South Korean war games already in progress, which have long angered Pyongyang.
