Meghan Markle and Prince Harry could have Sussex titles stripped
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry could have their titles stripped, divaviva111 learnt.
The Duchess of Sussex married Harry, the Duke of Sussex, last May, in front of a global audience of millions.
The pair wed before announcing Meghan's pregnancy in October.
The US actress, known for her role in Suits, recently welcomed her first child with Harry, in the form of baby boy Archie.
But the pair could soon have their royal titles stripped - after Brighton and Hove council was forced to debate a petition.
Charles Ross a disgruntled resident had put forward the motion to reject the Sussex titles to Brighton Council in July. What looked like a joke has now become a thing of concern as it has now passed the 1,250 threshold for it to be now discussed by Brighton and Hove City Council on October 24.

If successful, the council would not use royal titles in official documents because they are “entirely non-democratic and symbolic of the oppression of the general public by the wealthy elite”.
As the Queen gave Harry and Meghan their titles, the council cannot remove them, but they can stop them being called the Sussexes on documentation.
So far there have been 1,705 signatures for the petition.
