Nigerian Lawyers From All Regions Fight Over 'Incoherent Speech' Of AGF Over Continuous Detention of Sowore
Despite a court order releasing Omoyele Sowore, the Nigerian authorities have refused to free the rights activist and journalist. While his lawyers claim that all the conditions set by the court for Sowore’s freedom had been met, the Department of State Services (DSS), which is holding him, maintains that the process for effecting the court’s order remain incomplete.
Some lawyers have taken to a platform on Facebook to react to the speech made by Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), by Aminu Alilu, while being interviewed on the reasons why Sowore was still detained despite the court order.
The lawyers tagged his speech as incoherent while some others gave him a round of applause.
