Gov. Makinde Sues Abia Gov Over N200m Campaign BillBoard Fee

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, running as the APM presidential candidate, has sued Abia State Governor Alex Otti over a mandatory ₦200 million campaign billboard fee. In suit HC/214/2026, the plaintiffs argue the levy violates the 1999 Constitution and Electoral Act by forcing candidates to breach statutory spending limits if replicated nationwide.  


While states can regulate local signage, using exorbitant fees as a barrier undermines equal political access and statutory spending caps, favoring incumbents over opposition candidates. 


Courts usually prioritize constitutional assembly rights over local advertising levies when they suppress political competition. We strongly advise the Governor of the state to make right decisions as we all are watching.

Vacation Court Remands Ifeanyi Ogbonna a.k.a Odogwu Asaba Over Alleged Rape and Mansl@ughter

 Delta State High Court has remanded content creator Ifeanyi Ogbonna ("Odogwu Asaba") at the Ogwashi-Uku Correctional Centre over the alleged rape and death of 20-year-old Favour Agbro. ​Recall that Agbro had traveled to Asaba for social media monetization training, where Ogbonna allegedly assaulted her in a hotel. She later recorded a video recounting the ordeal and accusing Ogbonna before dying by suicide from a toxic substance. Following an investigation supported by autopsy and toxicology results, police charged Ogbonna, whose wife publicly defended him by admitting an affair occurred while denying any rape. Ogbonna remains in custody awaiting trial.
